HEALTH CARE FOR ALL

Several times a year, SMVA Trust hosts health fairs or "medical camps" as they are known locally, which can last anywhere from a few days to a week or longer. During these camps, physicians from around the world often visit the hospital to volunteer their services. The visiting physicians augment the hospital's existing staff, providing the community with access to a wider range of medical expertise.

Bringing Medical Care to Communities in Need

The number of patients visiting the hospital during these international medical camps can climb well into the thousands, enabling SMVA Trust to extend medical services to a larger number of individuals in need. Additionally, the camps provide an opportunity for local doctors to interact with healthcare providers from other parts of the world, facilitating the exchange of knowledge and ideas that can benefit both patients and medical professionals. Through these camps, SMVA Trust is able to enhance its impact and extend its reach to more individuals in need.

Food awareness

Through the food awareness campaign, SMVA Trust has worked to educate people about the benefits of consuming fresh, locally-sourced fruits and vegetables, as well as the importance of whole grains, legumes, and other traditional foods.

In addition, the campaign has encouraged people to avoid processed and packaged foods that are often high in sugar, salt, and unhealthy fats.

Doctors and healthcare professionals have also played a key role in promoting healthy food choices. By educating patients about the importance of a healthy diet and providing recommendations for healthy food choices, doctors have helped to prevent and manage a range of diet-related health problems.
